General Information

New members join SJFC as provisional members. The provisional process allows new members to get to know each other, learn about the club in a smaller group setting, and participate in a clearly defined project to benefit the community.

Besides working with other provisional members on their project, provisional members will attend meetings, join a department (one of three subgroups that meet monthly), and participate in a standing committee (hospitality, membership, publicity, newsletter, or ways and means). To make active membership, provisional members must attend six general meetings and/or department meetings. All members (active and provisional) are required to support the club’s activities.

Upon joining SJFC, provisional members are assigned a sponsor, an active member who will help them with their entry into the club. Sponsors will inform provisional members of upcoming meetings and events, introduce them to active members, and explain various aspects of club functions.
