Club Departments
SJFC maintains three departments—Education, Art, and Literature; Health and Public Affairs; and Home Life and Conservation. Because each department comprises a third of the general club membership, department meetings provide an exceptional opportunity for club members to get to know one another in a smaller setting.
Department chairs try to balance department meeting topics among charitable projects, informative speakers and social events. During the course of the year, each department devotes one evening to volunteer for (SHIP) Summit Helping Its People. At that meeting, department members gather to cook lasagna at the Calvary Episcopal Church. The dinners are later delivered by SHIP volunteers to area churches for distribution to the homeless.
